The investment returns are calculated after allowing for income tax on investment income and investment management expenses. Declared unit prices are net of fees and tax. Investment returns are not guaranteed, all investments have risk, and past performance is not an indicator of future performance.
From 1 July 2017, all transition to retirement pensions are invested with all other taxable super assets and generate the same return as the standard super options. From 1 July 2017 please refer to the Statewide Super Investment Performance table above for transition to retirement pension returns. For performance up to 30 June 2017 please refer to the Historical Investment Returns section for the Statewide Pension investment performance.

Investment options performance summary for Marketlink accounts
Historical performance to 1 July 2013
Due to the combination of the assets, and the creation of a number of new options from 1 July 2013, one existing and three new investment options do not have a history of investment returns. The existing option is the Conservative option and the new options are MySuper, the Conservative Balanced and Active Balanced.
The MySuper option is a new option that was formed by the combination of assets from StatewideSuper and Local Super. It provides a growth orientated portfolio for members and is targeted to achieve a return of 4% above inflation over rolling ten year periods. As this is a new option that combines the previous Statewide and Local Super arrangements there is no performance history that is available for this structure.
The new Conservative Balanced and Active Balanced investment options are new options from 1 July 2013 and therefore do not have an investment history.
We have reviewed the Conservative option and made some changes to the strategic asset allocation and therefore this investment option does not have a history of investment returns.
All other options (including the renamed options) have historical performance based on the previous StatewideSuper options. In these cases the former Local Super investment options were similar to the old Statewide options and we have therefore used Statewide’s investment return history.
Due to these new or revised asset allocations, the Conservative, Conservative Balanced, Active Balanced and MySuper investment options will start at a $1 unit price on 1 July 2013. The other six investment options will maintain the historical unit prices and investment history of the equivalent options currently available to Statewide Industry Fund members. On 1 July 2013 you’ll be allocated the required units for the super you have in any of these investment options to ensure your total account balance remains unchanged.
Historical performance of the pre 1 July 2013 investment options for both Statewide and Local Super are available here.

While we all want consistently positive super returns over the years, the reality is, super returns are like any investment in that they can go down as well as up. Check out historical returns and read the pros and cons of switching.
