Apply for new insurance or transfer existing cover

As a Statewide Super member, you can apply for insurance, apply to increase your existing cover or apply to transfer any existing insurance.

If you’ve joined Statewide Super through your employer, you could be eligible to automatically receive four units of Income Protection insurance, and up to four units of standard Death & TPD insurance, subject to you meeting the eligibility criteria*. Please refer to the ‘insurance in your super’ booklet for more details.

Need to update your level of automatic cover?

If the level of automatic cover is not sufficient for your needs (or does not apply to you), you can apply for insurance by following these simple steps:

To apply for insurance:

  • login to your secure Statewide Super Online member portal
  • Click on the Insurance tab, followed by the Insurance review button
  • under Manage your insurance, select Change your insurance cover
  • fill in your details and submit*.

And, if you wish to transfer any existing insurance cover:

  • Please download and complete the Transfer of insurance form located within the Insurance forms section of our website.

    * Please note that cover will be subject to acceptance by the Insurer and exclusions may apply.

    ** Every eligible person who:

    • is aged between 25 and 65,
    • has an account balance with the fund of at least $6,000,
    • is not already an insured member, has not previously cancelled or reduced their cover
    • is not a Salarylink member, CCASP member or NTG member, and
    • receives an employer contribution after meeting the criteria above, will automatically receive default cover.

    Insurance is provided by MetLife Insurance Limited ABN 75 004 274 882 AFSL 238096 (the Insurer). Insurance is subject to the full terms and conditions contained in the ‘insurance policy’ with the Insurer. A copy of the policy may be provided to you upon request at no charge. You will only be entitled to insurance benefits to the extent that the trustee receives insurance proceeds in respect of you under the policy with the Insurer. The trustee has a right to change the Insurer from time to time.
