Reconciliation Action Plan
Our Vision for Reconciliation
Our vision for reconciliation is to support the development of a culture of equality where all Australians, regardless of race or faith, live the life they aspire to and have the ability to achieve a dignified retirement.
We recognise that First Australians do not experience the same life expectancy, health, education and prospects as most other Australians. This, combined with a superannuation system structured to favour non-indigenous Australians, has resulted in lower super balances and inadequate retirement outcomes for First Australians.
We aim to level the playing field by developing greater education, support networks and strategies to assist First Australians and our RAP is a demonstration of our public commitment to close the super gap.
Our RAP consists of a range of partnerships, internal and external initiatives, sponsorship and projects to invoke positive change within our sector and our communities.
As the lead body for reconciliation in Australia, Reconciliation Australia’s RAP Framework provides organisations with a structured approach to advance reconciliation. There are four types of RAP that an organisation can develop: Reflect, Innovate, Stretch, Elevate. Each type of RAP is designed to suit an organisation at different stages of their reconciliation journey.
Statewide Super is currently in the second-phase of our RAP journey - Innovate. Please see our current approved documents below highlighting the work we have achieved so far:
