Caring for our community
Statewide Super is a proud South Australian based industry super fund, passionate about supporting our members and local communities. Through our active involvement with a number of not-for-profit organisations and community initiatives, we give back to the communities that help our members flourish.....
Support of local business & communities
We know how important a thriving business is to the economic long-term sustainability of our communities. We are proud supporters of not-for-profit organisations, programs and initiatives that care for and assist those most in need. Below are just some of the organisations and projects that we are proudly affiliated with:
Statewide Super are passionate supporters of local not-for-profit organisation CFS Foundation. The Foundation provides financial assistance and care to CFS volunteer firefighters and their families to offset suffering and distress caused in the line of duty. The Foundation relies on donations from the community and with the recent devastation caused by the Australian bushfires, there has never been a more important time to support our volunteers. KickStart for Kids
KickStart (KSFK) for Kids is a not-for-profit organisation that helps disadvantaged school children through their breakfast and lunch, mentoring, and holiday care programs. We have been actively involved with the Breakfast Program since 2015 - a program which delivers breakfast to over 350 schools across SA with our staff dedicating time to undertake Police Checks and Training to become volunteers. We also support their No-Breakfast Breakfast, are ambassadors for their Come Together Movement and carry out an Annual Christmas Gift Drive to provide present to children at Christmas time who would otherwise go without. Our partnership and support has also extended to KSFK being named the charity partner of the SANFL Statewide Super League. To donate, please head to: kickstartforkids.com.au/donate-to-kickstart/.
National Breast Cancer Foundation
Statewide Super is a long-term sponsor of the Adelaide Mother's Day Classic walk/run, organised by Women in Super in order to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Our staff participate in the event annually and provide promotional items for donations, to assist in raising funds for breast cancer research. To donate, please head to: nbcf.org.au/donate/
NT Cricket Pathways Program
Our support of NT Cricket since 2019 has enabled the Statewide Super Pathways Program. This program enhances and further develops players, coaches and umpires across the Territory, with an aspiration of helping young cricketers reach their full potential and providing the Territory with the most elite talent per capita across Australian Cricket.
Statewide Super is an advocate for gender equity with our Chief Executive Officer, Tony D'Alessandro, holding a role as a Chief for Gender Equity since 2019.
The Chiefs of Gender Equity is a group of senior business leaders from prominent SA companies representing key industry sectors brought together with the common aim of advancing gender equity. The group are working to progress sustainable change within their own organisations and to increase the participation of women at the highest levels of industry. Supported by the Equal Opportunity Commission, the group aims to educate and encourage other SA businesses to better address gender equity issues in the workplace.
Equality for First Australians
It is our vision that all Australians have the same opportunities for engagement with and access to their superannuation, so they can live their best retirement.
At Statewide Super, our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is enabling us to improve the engagement, education, communication and delivery of superannuation services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a result, our aim is that First Australians will be able to more effectively plan, prepare and build wealth for their retirement. Head over to our Reconciliation Action Plan page to read more about our RAP journey.
Yothu Baby Basket Project
Statewide Super are proud to be involved in the The Yothu Baby Basket Project, supplying newborn baby and care products to new mothers in the remote community of Galiwin’ku, East Arnhem Land.
Initiated and driven by local Galiwin'ku women, Statewide Super is providing the required baskets to support the average birth rate in the community for an entire year. COVID-19 has exacerbated the difficulty for women in remote communities, making it hard to access baby essentials. More donations will help ensure that no new mother goes without with the aim to replicate this initiative in other remote First Australian communities.
If you would like to make a donation towards this initiative, you can personally deliver essential items found on this list here to our NT Office at Suite 20, Level 1, 48-50 Smith Street, Darwin NT or you can transfer money to: The Australian Doula College, BSB 062 624, Account 1110 8286 (please note, monetary donations are not tax deductible).
Making a difference through our employees
Statewide Super is proud that employee charitable donations are matched dollar for dollar by the fund. We encourage staff to support a range of charities that we feel are making a significant positive impact on our communities – both nationally and internationally.
Statewide Super employees are provided with Volunteer Leave to undertake a range of community and environmental-based activities which are organised on a regular basis. This includes our annual commitment to the KSFK Breakfast Program and various other individual charities that our staff are personally involved in.
Statewide Super is committed to environmental and social responsibility, helping to build more sustainable communities and take actions that will have a positive environmental impact. You can read more about how we are achieving that here.
